Product Description
An alkaline electrolyte mix especially formulated for horses doing fast or high-energy work over short periods, such as race horses.

Pottie's Maxilyte will replace salts lost due to sweating and will aid in the treatment of acidosis. Use Maxilyte to achieve proper electrolyte balance, which is essential to peak performance. An Alkaline electrolyte, which counteracts acidosis. Combats lactic acid overload which causes cramps, muscle stiffness and fatigue.

Registered veterinary medicine with correct levels of electrolyte and no filling agents. Can be used in the treatment of dehydration if given with water. Essential electrolyte replacements Especially useful for horses doing fast early morning track work, or fast work in cool temperatures.

Maxilyte is alkaline to counteract lactic acid build up in the muscles. This build up causes horses the pain and soreness that sometimes require a long recovery period. In any event, it is beneficial to reduce this lactic acid build up and improve recovery time. There are many physiological processes that maintain the blood pH in a very narrow range for normal in horses. Short duration, high intensity equine athletes exercise at levels that exceed the anaerobic threshold, resulting in accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles and development of a metabolic (systemic) acidosis.
